Learn how to generate shipping labels.

With Shipturtle, you can set up accounts with various shipping partners, generate labels, and track shipments. If your preferred partner isn't available, please contact us. We're continuously adding more partners.

Use Rate API to compare rates

To compare rates across different shipping partners, enter the package dimensions and weight and click on the “Select Shipper” dropdown.

Generate Shipping Label

Using Your Configured Shippers for Single or Bulk Orders

1. Single Order:

  • Select from your configured partners in the "Select Shipper" dropdown for your order.
  • Click the "Generate Label" button and download it once it turns green.

2. Bulk Orders:

  • Use the "Bulk Action" utility to generate shipping labels for multiple orders at once.

Note: Ensure that the "Ship to" address, "Pickup" address, weight, and package dimensions are filled in and correct for all orders. If there's an error, the app won't generate a label.

Add a Tracking Number

If the shipping label is created outside Shipturtle, you can add the tracking number, tracking link, and weight to the order. Click the "Select Shipper" dropdown and Add Tracking Manually. This is useful for dropshippers or infrequent shipments with ad-hoc shipping partners.

Tracking Status Retrieval and Maintenance

After generating the shipping label, the tracking number appears under "Shipper details." Clicking on the tracking number takes you directly to the Tracking page of your shipping partner.

Shipturtle also keeps track of shipping status within the application:

For shippers with tracking integration, an "A" sign (for automatic) is shown next to the shipment status. Shipturtle automatically retrieves and updates the tracking status every hour.

For shippers without tracking integration, an "M" sign (for manual) is displayed next to the shipment status. In this case, the user must manually update the shipment status.

Note: If the shipping partner returns an incorrect status for any reason, the user can switch from automatic to manual status.

Update Order Status on Your E-commerce Store

Navigate to Settings>Shop Settings, then select Automatically Update Order Status. Once you create a shipment, the shipping details and tracking number will be automatically sent to your e-commerce store.

Cancel Shipping label

Select the orders you wish to cancel the shipping labels. Then, go to Bulk Actions and select Cancel Shipping Label to cancel the labels.

Send Shipping labels Via Email and WhatsApp

You can email a copy of the shipping label along with order details by clicking on the email icon for each order or using the "Email Orders to Vendors" option in the "Bulk Actions"

If the multi-vendor option is selected, the email will be sent to the vendor and warehouse with a CC to the merchant. If multi-vendor is not selected, the email will be sent to the merchant and warehouse.

Download Shipping details for Accounting / Analysis

To download your order and shipping details, filter your orders and click the Export button at the top right of the Orders screen. You can then use the Freight reconciliation utility to compare your estimated versus actual shipping costs.

Troubleshooting / Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the shipping icon grey and I can't generate a shipping label?

There are two possible scenarios:

a. There is an error in the order - typically due to missing information such as warehouse details, package dimensions/weight, or selected shipper. These errors are indicated by a small red error sign on the relevant cell in the order. You can click the sign to learn more about the error.

b. In the case of vendors, they may not have been given access to generate a shipping label. To correct this, go to Multi-Vendor Settings -> Shipping Settings and enable the option for "Shipping label generation."
