Add whatsapp integration and notifications

The WhatsApp Integration feature is essential for any marketplace built on Shopify.

This feature allows the admin to send automated WhatsApp notifications to vendors and customers for various updates such as order placement, fulfillment, delivery, product approval, and more. It streamlines communication and provides real-time updates, enhancing the overall user experience.

To activate this add-on feature, go to the app -> Subscriptions and Billing -> Add-Ons -> WhatsApp Integration.

Selecting WhatsApp Integration Settings

Once activated, you can integrate WhatsApp using two options:

Option 1: Using Shipturtle’s Account

Messages sent to vendors or customers will use Shipturtle’s number. For using your own number, see Option 2. Messages are auto-generated with several templates:

Customer Templates:

  • Order Create: Sent when a new order is received.
  • Order Fulfill: Sent when the order is fulfilled, including tracking details.
  • Order Delivered: Sent upon order delivery, with tracking details.
  • Return Successful: Sent when a return is processed successfully.
  • Return Rejected: Sent if a return request is rejected.
  • Return Requested: Sent when a return is initiated.
  • Order In Transit: Sent when the order is in transit.
  • Refund Successful: Sent when a refund is processed.
  • Order Cancelled: Sent when an order is cancelled.

Vendor Templates:

Order Create: Sent when a new order is received.

Send Invoice & Shipping Label: Sent upon order confirmation.

Product Approve: Sent when a product is approved.

Create Order Seller Dynamic: For creating orders with multiple sellers.

Note: Enable the status of each template to receive messages. Preview and test messages using your phone number. You receive test credits for sending messages. Purchase new credits as needed in the app under Subscriptions and Billing -> One time Plan -> Buy WhatsApp Credit.

Option 2: Using Your Own Account

To use your brand’s number:

  1. Create a Gupshup Account: Contact Nitin Bhatia for assistance (98739 31153, nitin.bhatia@gupshup.io). Account creation takes 4-5 days.
  2. Create a Template: Follow this link, click Create, select Message Template, and copy templates from Shipturtle’s Dashboard to Gupshup.
  3. Customize the Message: Add order details using ‘Add sample’.
  4. Create the Template: Click Create. Send the updated template to Shipturtle (team@shipturtle.com, +91 63530 00514).

Note: You cannot change the text template. There are 5 templates similar to Shipturtle’s integration. Preview and test messages are available. Extra templates incur additional charges.

Logs for each message show status (Sent, Read, Delivered, or Pending) for complete clarity.
