Steps to Create Metafields in Shipturtle

Add Metafields

  1. Navigate to Settings > Multi Vendor Settings > Product Settings.

  2. You will see a list of existing metafields. To add a new metafield, click on 'ADD CUSTOM FIELD'.

Create a New Metafield

  1. Fill in the required information for the new metafield:

    • Fields For: Currently, Shipturtle provides metafields at the product level, so this field is fixed.

    • Field Name: Enter the name of the metafield.

    • Field Type: Select the field type based on your needs.

    • Digital Product: Check this box if the custom field is for storing digital data such as photos, MP3s, documents, etc

  2. Click 'Save' to add the new metafield to your Shopify store. This new metafield will integrate seamlessly with Shipturtle for enhanced functionality.

Locate and Modify Metafields

  • The newly created metafield will appear in the Shopify metafield section.

  • You can change the value from both the Shipturtle app and Shopify, and the changes will be reflected in both places.

Additional Information

  1. Unpinned Metafields: When creating a metafield on Shopify, it’s placed under the UNPINNED metafield list. Shopify has limits on PINNED metafields, so they are created sparingly. However, you can easily move a metafield to the PINNED list using the Shopify admin interface.

  2. Compatibility: Shipturtle does not currently support syncing existing metafields created from Shopify. For compatibility, create and delete metafields directly from the Shipturtle platform.

  3. Image Metafields: Shopify does not allow inserting images in metafields directly. Images inserted in Shipturtle will be converted to URLs in Shopify metafields. With the help of your website developer, you can display these URLs as images on your website.
